Townshend Stith Brandegee

Townshend Stith Brandegee (* 16. Februar 1843 in Berlin, Connecticut; † 7. April 1925 in Berkeley, Kalifornien) war ein amerikanischer Botaniker und Pflanzensammler. Sein offizielles botanisches Autorenkürzel lautet „Brandegee“; früher war auch das Kürzel „T.S.Brandeg.“ in Gebrauch.

Townshend Stith Brandegee war von 1890 bis 1894 Herausgeber der Zeitschrift Zoe. Er war mit der Botanikerin und Pflanzensammlerin Mary Katharine Brandegee verheiratet.

Ihm zu Ehren wurde die Gattung Brandegea Cogn. aus der Pflanzenfamilie der Kürbisgewächse (Cucurbitaceae) benannt.
